The Congress animated the experts discussing the presented results and encouraged the exchange of ideas and knowledge. Among other things, “best practice innovations”, demoversions and supporting tools for chain quality information systems as well as concepts to improve food safety and quality were themes of the expert discussion. In addition, software-based instruments of determination to facilitate food monitoring were presented by the participants.

Especially small and medium enterprises shall profit of the experience and knowledge exchange, by obtaining concrete advices how to introduce and organise interplant quality-safety-systems.

Furthermore the basis of an international network was laid during the meeting. The aim of this network is the improvement of the cooperation between public authorities, industry, research and other organisations in the food quality and safety sector. In addition stronger connections between research-networks and expert groups of ecomony and administration will be supported.
